NanaWall door products bring the outside in with a push of the collapsible door via its open glass wall technology. Think of a wall full of windows that with ease opens your home or business to the outside. NanaWalls is now offering certain products made with Lamboo, which is a laminated bamboo product. Lamboo will be available for NanaWall’s WD65 wood-framed system and WA67aluminum-clad wood-framed system. Proposed Revision Adds Bamboo to ASTM Standard for Structural Composite Lumber Products
A proposed revision to ASTM International standard ASTM D5456, Specification for Evaluation of Structural Composite Lumber Products, would add bamboo as a fiber material that can be used in the manufacture of products covered in the standard. ASTM D5456 is under the jurisdiction of Subcommittee D07.02 on Lumber and Engineered Wood Products, part of ASTM International Committee D07 on Wood. “Up until now, ASTM D5456 made reference to the traditional wood species used for solid sawn lumber,” says Luke Schuette, president, Lamboo Inc. and a member of D07.02." University of Illinois Builds a Salvaged Solar Home: Solar Decathalon
"The Gable Home, built by a team from the University of Illinois, doesn't just echo historic icons of the team's home state—it's actually constructed of them.... there are lots of new materials in the home, too, including bamboo. The bathroom, for example, has a bamboo floor and counter. Fifth-year students designed and built custom bamboo cabinetry for the bedroom. And there's even 3/4-inch laminate bamboo supporting the walls: The students worked with Lamboo, a bamboo research, development and manufacturing company, to develop and certify the product for structural-grade uses."
